Responsibilities

River Vista Behavioral Health sits along the bluffs overlooking the San Joaquin River, this brand new, 128-bed facility, will provide high-quality and advanced behavioral health services to residents and visitors in the Central Valley. The new hospital will employ more than 250 people, including clinicians, nurses, mental health technicians, support staff and administration. We are currently seeking a forward thinking and talented Manager of Business Office/Revenue Cycle to be an essential member of the senior leadership team and have broad responsibility to always ensure the hospital's compliance with all Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory agencies standards and requirements. In this multifaceted position you will play a vital role in the Patient Billing and Collection processes. Provide direction and oversight of business office operations which will achieve the established productivity standards for the department. Implement business office procedural guidelines which will facilitate a smooth work flow and accurate to follow-up on all activity. Review daily all collection reports, taking corrective actions as necessary. Review daily census and assure all proper information has been obtained. Maintain monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and provide report as required.A member of the hospital's leadership team, supervises all Business Office staff and process to ensure that all goals are achieved. Ensures that all Business Office standards and policies and procedures are followed. Key Functions - 30%

  • Ensures that patient portion is sent to agency timely.
  • Ensures that accounts are written off correctly.
  • Maintains cash at 95% or more of Net Revenue.
  • Maintains Bad Debt at 5% or less of Net Revenue.
  • Maintains credit balances at 3% or less of Net Revenue.
  • Performs month end close activities.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments to ensure maximum productivity and profitability for the hospital.
  • Supervises all Business Office staff.
  • Resolves patient financial complaints.
  • Assists with reporting duties.

    • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and promotions for all staff within the team.
    • Maintains accurate job descriptions/evaluative tools for assigned staff.
    • Completes new-hire touch points in accordance with the facility's Onboarding Plan.
    • Actively participates and champions the facility's Service Excellence and Recognition Programs.
    • Develops team building initiatives to engage staff and build a positive team dynamic. As a member of the Leadership Team of the hospital, complete rounding and other administrative mentoring opportunities. The Manager of Business Office/Revenue Cycle position requires: QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field preferred, with certification through HFMA or AEPAM (CMPA or CPAM); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience on CA patient billing and collection processes. Preferably in a health-care setting, with one (1) year supervisory/management experience preferred.
