From preparation to preservation, conveying and packaging, our comprehensive range of technologies captures the freshness, taste, texture, appearance and nutritional value of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, and we have a fantastic opportunity for an an Associate Project Manager to join our Preservation team!

Responsibilities Position Summary :

The role of the Associate Project Manager is to provide assistance to the Project Management Department by providing project support throughout the project lifecycle. - This will include assisting PM team members with project tasks as assigned, in order to better understand PM principles, build technical knowledge of A&B manufactured products and under direct to moderate supervision, plan, execute, and deliver assigned projects according to deadlines and within budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under direct to moderate supervision, the Associate PM will manage project activity throughout the project life cycle; from initiation through closing. Effectively communicate project requirements to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Track estimated versus actual costs against work performed while monitoring scope requirements and recommend/track change requests balancing customer service with budget responsibilities.
Coordinate Project Team activities to ensure goals are achieved.
Coordinate and Lead Project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Create and maintain project baseline documents: Project Summary/Execution Plan
Project Roster
Change Order Log
Action Item Log
Project Risk Register
Project Schedule
Document Transmittal Log

Identify project dependencies and critical path.
Identify and track project milestones and deliverables.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Track planned work versus actual work and review impact if any to overall project timeline by analyzing impact to critical path. Report to stakeholders as required both the schedule variance percent as well as the impact if any to the project critical path.
Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recommendations if necessary. When directed, coordinate with other department managers for the support of required personnel from within the company.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Define and track project success metrics and communicate success metrics to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project closeouts and create a recommendations report in order to document successful and unsuccessful project elements. (Lessons learned)
Preemptively engage supervision when in doubt on any decisions affecting delivery or profitability.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to managing projects.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in business or technical field, or equivalent experience in industry.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1-3 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity is desired, but not required.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is desired.
An understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office software applications.
Not easily frustrated with shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly, efficiently and without frustration. Flexible during times of change.
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments. Customer service skills an asset. Effective interpersonal skills.
Must possess accurate documentation skills, attention to details, and ability to multi-task. Effective written and oral communication skills.
This is a service orientated position. The successful candidate must genuinely enjoy working with people, have a pleasant disposition and be willing to advance the goals of the organization by demonstrating competence in relevant subject areas.
Effective at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is desired, and to know when to ask for help.
