Unit Description Employer's Health Care Division is seeking an Environmental Services Operations Manager 2 to oversee the Environmental / Custodial Services units for Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, CA . This is a 356 bed Acute medical facilitiy that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Relocation is not offered at this time. This is a 2nd/Evening shift that may require some weekends and holidays.
The ideal candidate will oversee housekeeping employees, and contracted services. Ideal candidate must be flexible in work hours and be able to train/ mentor/motivate hourly staff. The ideal candidate for this position will also have strong client/ employee relationship-building skills and possess the ability to manage direct reports, handle multiple priorities, quickly grasps situations and logically progress through solutions, the ability to refine systems ensuring sustained effort of achieving standards.
The ideal candidate for this position will have continuous custodial / housekeeping management experience in a health care / hospital setting as an Operations Manager, knowledge of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies, the ability to drive change, the ability to motivate/ develop staff and focus on customer service in a union and non-union environment.

- Prior experience in an EVS Manager role
- Children's hospital experience preferred

The " Hands-On " Manager ensures consistency in day-to-day operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance. The Operations Manager Manager is highly involved in driving HCAHPS scores and patient satisfaction to meet or exceed set target. Required : Good working knowledge of state & federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel ( able to create and work w/ formulas ), and Power-Point; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented; well organized; and strong operational & financial Acumen. Preferred : Bi-Lingual with ability to communicate (speak and write) in English and Spanish; and prior contract management and health-care experience.
Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Employer employees) in the delivery of Employer Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Employer safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.
-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence
-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.
-Ensures compliance with application of all Employer Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.
-Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.
-Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's DegreeBasic Management Experience - 2 yearsBasic Functional Experience - 2 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
