background-color: f5f5f5; } Position: Registered Nurse (RN) –
Student Health & Counseling Center Location: Fresno State
University, Fresno, CA Overview Fresno State’s Student Health &
Counseling Center provides comprehensive primary care, wellness,
and behavioral health services to students. The RN will work
closely with physicians, mental health providers, and wellness
staff to support the well-being of our student population. Key
Responsibilities - Conduct nursing assessments and triage for
students presenting with acute or routine health concerns. -
Administer medications, immunizations, and injections; manage
medication orders and follow-up processes. - Perform and interpret
basic lab tests and specimens (e.g., via phlebotomy). - Provide
health education, wellness counseling, and preventive care
guidance. - Assist with chronic disease management and support
referrals to specialist services. - Document all patient encounters
in compliance with clinical protocols and confidentiality
guidelines (e.g., HIPAA). - Collaborate with counseling and
wellness teams to support mental health initiatives and referral
coordination. - Participate in health promotion events (e.g., flu
clinics, mental health awareness), and assist with data tracking
and reporting. - Uphold infection control and safety standards
across the clinic. Qualifications - Valid California RN license. -
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Minimum of 1–2
years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory care, public
health, or college health settings. - Skilled in patient
assessment, immunizations, medication administration, and specimen
collection. - Strong interpersonal and communication
abilities—effectively educate and support a diverse student body. -
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. -
Commitment to student-centered care and health promotion practices.
