access to your earnings! Job Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA)
acts as a caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in
long-term care. This role involves delivering resident-centered
nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the
guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for
providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and
psychological needs of residents according to their care plans. As
a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to
infection prevention protocols and the proper use of Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include: Assisting
with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting,
grooming, dressing, and undressing. Obtaining and documenting vital
signs while offering psychosocial support and personal care.
Helping residents with mobility, including transferring,
repositioning, and walking using appropriate techniques and
equipment. Facilitating range of motion and passive exercises.
Contributing to food preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a
positive atmosphere during meals. Documenting resident interactions
and care outcomes, and communicating any changes in condition to
the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and
vital signs. Providing housekeeping and laundry services to
maintain clean living areas. Supporting wellness and recreational
programs, encouraging resident participation. Participating in
departmental committees and task forces as needed. Qualifications
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred,
but not mandatory. Minimum age of 16 years. Previous clinical or
nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. Must
possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the
State Board of Nursing, or obtain state certification within four
months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program.
CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility.
Must complete annual department-specific competency testing and
maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum
of 12 hours required each year. For applicable states, must be
certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP)
Registry. Depending on facility requirements, this position may
classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor
vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license. Must be
medically qualified to perform essential driving functions as per
