This individual will assist on survey field crews as a land survey Chainman. LAND SURVEY CHAINMAN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED) - Assist on survey field crews as a land survey Chainman. - Perform land survey work using routine surveying practices and equipment. - Performs calculations and computations - Responsible for utilizing Trimble and TDS surveying programs to gather, retrieve and interpret important data. - Perform assignments under the direction of a supervisor and project technical staff - Other duties may be assigned when necessary to meet business requirements LAND SURVEY CHAINMAN QUALIFICATION NEEDED: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related land survey chainman experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Minimum of 5 years field experience with topographic surveys and construction staking - Practical knowledge of Trimble S6 Robotic Instruments and TDS software is preferred - Must be a member of Operating Engineers, Local 3 - Appropriate valid California drivers license - Demonstrate record of safe driving - Good physical stamina (working on feet for 8+ hours, lifting and lowering) - Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions. - Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance. - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. - Candidates local to the Fresno, Folsom or Sacramento California area will receive priority hiring consideration. But we are also open to applicants that are ready and willing to relocate to the location listed above. - Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employee sponsorship and/or Visa transfer. Must have US citizenship or Green Card.
