Essential Functions of the Job:
Responsible for the overall coordination, direction, and evaluation of Aseptic Manufacturing Sanitation program.
Understand CIP (clean in place) cleaning systems to lead facility's CIP Validations. Ensure that employees are aware and trained on SSOPs to properly clean all equipment and environmental surfaces.
Works across all shifts to support repeatable CIP's conducted as per SSOP.
Ensure sanitation procedures are compliant with food safety, quality, and sanitation standards. Ensures cleaning records accurately reflect which equipment/surfaces were cleaned, correct chemicals were used, and initials of cleaner. Verify cleaning records on a frequent basis.
Train production employees on pre-operational inspections of equipment based on verified SSOPs.
Monitor and ensure timely completion of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and provide regular progress reports to department managers.
Ensure safe handling of chemicals and use of approved chemicals, including obtaining SDS.
Partner with 3rd party cleaning service and Production team to maintain proper inventory of cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies Works with the Outside Chemical Company Representative to troubleshoot Sanitation issues and drive cost savings. Perform weekly inventories of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical supplies. Assists QA team with inspections, investigations, troubleshooting, and program review related to incident management. All other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Intent is for this individual to not have direct reports.Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Science, Engineering, or Technical Field 3+ years of food manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and/or Sanitation experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical or Food Engineering.Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven ability to assign and verify task completion.Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Employee must be able to stand for long hours. Over 50% of work is completed in the manufacturing environment.Additional Considerations:
